The narratives created in Pooya Nabei’s often  dark and self-reflective photographs, evoke a  sense of introspection that transcends the monotony of the average fashion portfolio.

Dedicated to the art of  masterful studio and location lighting, Pooya’s photography takes the viewer out of their  comfort zone and into  a world of  tension, movement and titillation. Working with top stylists and production teams, Pooya  is able to craft  rich, moody, sensual images that sometimes feel far removed from the  typical glamour of every day fashion spreads and more representative of the energy and drama of life.

Photography has long had a powerful hold on Pooya, both as a sanctuaryand an  extension of his  experiences in life. His fascination with fashion drove him to the world of nightlife and extravagant sets. Years  spent  shooting the biggest  events  and  the best parties in Vancouver, Miami, and New York  put Pooya at the forefront of real world fashionistas and trendsetters. To compliment this, skills honed through working with master photographers and mentors have gifted Pooya with the depth and versatility that most photographers aspire to.
