SONNY BILL WILLIAMS

Sonny Bill Williams (born Sonny William Williams on 3 August 1985 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a professional rugby union player currently aligned to French club, RC Toulonnais.

Williams is notable both for his rugby league career where he scored 122 tries and is now the record, and his 2008 sudden and controversial mid-season departure from his National Rugby League team to play rugby union in France. He represented New Zealand at international level; at the time of converting to union, Williams was contracted to the Bulldogs Rugby League Football Club in the Australian National Rugby League. He left Australia in July 2008 in controversial circumstances.
