Was born in Savannah, Georgia, but when he was 3-years old, his parents decided to move back to their birth place, The Bronx, New York. Growing up in the Bronx, Desmond attended Catholic schools for 12 years St. Margaret's of Cortona for elementary school and Fordham Prep for high school. Desmond found trouble in and out of school throughout his formative years. After high school, Desmond attended Manhattan college for 6 weeks before dropping out. With no real sense of direction, he took jobs as a laborer, landscaper, a cold caller at a brokerage firm, and finally a bartender in Manhattan, where a co-worker invited him to attend an acting class. Over the years, Desmond has appeared in dramas and comedies alike, and has always delivered the goods.
Desmond has a black rose tattoo on his right arm, and another with the name of his grandmother Maureen.
